From the Archives heads up to Fallbrook today for this photo of Hotel Ellis, circa 1916. The hotel was built in the late 1880s, according to the Fallbrook Historical Society. William Ellis bought it in 1911 and turned it into a fine establishment. He died in 1923. It was sold to another owner in 1925 and eventually fell into disrepair. It was demolished in 1958. It stood where the Fallbrook Library stands today on Mission Road.
