Two arrested in Spring Valley motorhome slaying

Two men were arrested in the death of 52-year-old Ruben Cervantes, who was attacked and killed in his motorhome last year in Spring Valley, sheriff’s officials said.

Two San Diego men, Adrian Garcia, 28, and Issac Santana, 26, were arrested June 3 on suspicion of killing Cervantes and booked into San Diego Central Jail, homicide Lt. Juan Maruquez said.

According to investigators, Cervantes was physically assaulted inside his motorhome on Sweetwater Road just east of Orville Street on Jan. 19, 2025.

Four days later, deputies were called to the scene to assist firefighters with a medical aid call at the motorhome, Marquez said. Cervantes was pronounced dead at the scene.

The autopsy determined Cervantes had died from injuries that had happened four days earlier during the assault, officials said.
