A pedestrian who was allegedly jaywalking died after being struck by a vehicle Friday night in North Park, San Diego police said.

A 2020 Volkswagen Passat was going eastbound on El Cajon Boulevard near Hamilton Street, when it struck a 62-year-old woman around 11:40 p.m. Friday as she was crossing from north to south at the intersection, the San Diego Police Department said.

Paramedics rushed her to a hospital, where she died.
Police said DUI was not a factor in the crash.
