A person was hospitalized in critical condition after a stabbing Sunday in Escondido, authorities said.

Officers responded around 2:25 p.m. to reports of a stabbing on Bear Valley Parkway near Citrus Avenue. Officers found an adult suffering from stab wounds, according to the Escondido Police Department.
The victim was taken to a hospital. Detectives remained at the scene throughout the evening to lead the investigation.

Police said no other injuries were reported. It was unclear if any suspects were in custody as of Monday morning.
