San Diego police are investigating after a man died from an apparent gunshot wound in the Valencia Park neighborhood Wednesday, officials said.

Officers responded to a call of a shooting around 4:50 p.m. on 58th Street, north of Mira Flores Drive, and found a man, believed to be in his 30s, who was gravely injured.
He was taken to a hospital, where he later died. His name was not released.
Police said the preliminary investigation indicates the victim knew the shooter or shooters.
