One person died and another was injured following an undisclosed incident over the weekend at a home in Fallbrook, authorities said Monday.

Deputies responded to an “incomplete” 911 call on Woodcrest Lane near Orange Avenue about 8:05 p.m. Sunday, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Upon entering the residence, deputies found two people suffering from visible traumatic injuries. Both victims were rushed to a hospital, where one was later pronounced dead. The second person is expected to survive, officials said.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
Because of the nature of the incident, the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene and has taken over the investigation, officials said. The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.
