The shooting erupted about 11:30 p.m. on July 17 on Challenge Boulevard near Sierra Madre Road in Casa de Oro, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

“Deputies investigating the incident learned the victim was attending a party at the location when two men got into an argument in the middle of the street,” Detective Nicolai Ramos said. “The situation eventually escalated, resulting in a shooting. The victim was not the intended target and did not know the men involved in the argument.”
