The driver and passenger were killed Sunday when the sedan they were in went off the state Route 94 near downtown and struck a tree.

All three died when the pickup trucks they were in crashed and veered off the roadway

The stabbing was reported about 2:25 p.m. Sunday on Bear Valley Parkway near Citrus Avenue.

Oceanside police arrested a suspect about a half hour after the stabbing victims were found, and officers recovered two knives.

The vehicle engulfed in flames with the driver inside was found at 1:40 p.m. on private property.

A suspected DUI driver in a sedan went through a red light shortly before 2 a.m. and struck a police cruiser, police said. The officer and the driver and passenger in the sedan were hospitalized.

The mile-long eastbound and westbound closure in Chula Vista will occur from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to Caltrans.

The incident began Wednesday morning when San Diego police officers came upon an occupied stolen vehicle on Tecolote Road.
