Election Day is here for the 2026 gubernatorial primary election, and there’s still time to vote if you haven’t already.
Here’s what to know and expect Tuesday.
What’s being decided?
For most of the races on the ballot, voters will be deciding which two candidates will advance to the November general election — regardless of their political party. Those include statewide races and a slew of local races.

Can you still vote if you haven’t already?
Yes. Registered voters have a few options, and unregistered voters can still go to a vote center or the Registrar of Voters’ office to register and vote conditionally through 8 p.m. Tuesday.

If you already received a ballot by mail, you can you can just seal it, sign it and drop it in the mail. Ballots will be counted as long as they are postmarked on or before Tuesday’s date (June 2) and received by election officials within one week of Election Day.

When can we expect results?
Voters can expect an update shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday, which will include results from early voting through Monday. A second update is expected a few hours later. It could be days or weeks before the final vote count is completed.
