Hector Manuel Herrera Jr. of San Diego was fatally injured about 9:15 p.m. Friday in a multi-vehicle collision on Iris Avenue, just west of Hollister Street, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.

Paramedics took Herrera to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest, where he was pronounced dead several hours later, the agency reported.
