Four businesses and an apartment complex are without water in City Heights after a main water break late Wednesday night, officials said.

San Diego police responded to a call around 11:25 p.m. about water flooding the 54th Street and El Cajon Boulevard intersection, police said. Water was reported to have hit a nearby church.
Water to the area was shut off around 1 a.m., police said. City officials said Thursday that the street is closed in both directions from 53rd to 54th streets.

Impacted residents can receive water from a water wagon at Marcellena Villas, north of El Cajon Boulevard.
City officials said crews will work on repairs throughout Thursday but did not release an estimate of when they will be completed.

The cause of the break is still being determined.
