A suspect has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that left a man dead two weeks ago on an East Village roadside, authorities said Tuesday.

Marques Kelly, 26, was arrested Sunday for allegedly stabbing Corey Shine, 32, according to the San Diego Police Department.
An assault was reported near Petco Park shortly after 10 p.m. July 15, and Shine was found mortally wounded on a sidewalk on Park Boulevard, acting Lt. Victor Rodriguez said. Shine died before paramedics could take him to a hospital.

Investigators believe the homicide occurred during “an altercation over personal property,” Rodriguez said.

Kelly was booked into county jail on suspicion of murder.
