San Diego police are investigating a shooting in Mira Mesa on Friday night that left one woman dead and her husband in critical condition.

Police said the couple — a husband and wife who lived at the residence but were not identified publicly — were found around 7 p.m. Friday, when officers responded to an emergency call on Summerview Court near Jade Coast Drive.
Responding officers found the victims in the garage of the home. The woman died at the scene and the man was taken to the hospital, where he remained under medical supervision Saturday, police said.

The case is being investigated by the homicide unit of the San Diego Police Department. They already have begun interviewing potential witnesses, family members and neighbors for details of the attack.
