Humid monsoonal moisture will begin flowing into eastern San Diego County by late Saturday and will spread out early next week, possibly triggering showers and thunderstorms in a region where vegetation is abnormally dry, the National Weather Service says.
The daytime high in such desert areas as Borrego Springs is expected to reach 112 on Friday, 108 on Saturday and 106 on Sunday. The weather service regards temperatures over 100 to be potentially life-threatening.
Conditions will be much milder at and near the coast due to a sea breeze. The daily high temperature from Oceanside to Imperial Beach will be 75 to 76 on Friday and Saturday and 77 on Sunday.

Astronomical high tides will be 7 to 7.2 feet Sunday through Tuesday and will coincide with waves in the 4- to 6-foot range. Forecasters say this could cause minor coastal flooding in beach parking lots and streets during the evening high tides.
