San Diego police received multiple calls around 12:30 a.m. Sunday reporting the attacks near University and 10th avenues. Two businesses and three pedestrians were hit, police said. Police were investigating the attack as a hate crime.
The suspects were reported to be driving around in a gray Toyota Tacoma, police said.

The department’s Automated License Plate Recognition system captured the truck’s license plate and located it heading east on Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach around 3:30 a.m.
Based on evidence found at the scene and in the truck, one juvenile and three adults were arrested on charges of violating civil rights by threat or force, conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor and battery, police said.
