The 34-year-old man died at the hospital Friday after he was found unresponsive in his jail cell, sheriff’s officials said.

The California Supreme Court ruling prohibits unattainable and artificially high bail, and tightens standards on who should remain in pretrial custody.

The body of Alicia Ledezma Sanchez was found in a ravine on Aug. 13, 1998, and detectives continue to search for leads.

The woman is suspected of spending $96,000 in unauthorized charges on a league’s debit card, sheriff’s officials said.

Officials determined the husband shot his wife and then himself last week, San Diego police said.

The shooting occurred at 2 a.m. as the victims were walking south on 30th Street near University Avenue after leaving a bar.

The remains were found about 4:30 p.m. on an embankment near South Grade Road, near Frazier Point, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

The San Diego Police Department has written 20 tickets and issued over 300 warnings to would-be jumpers over the last three weeks

Investigators identified several street takeover locations on Saturday and made many arrests and citations.

Seven people were arrested following an 11-month investigation into a drug operation out of City Heights, downtown San Diego and Pacific Beach.
